Architectural Steelwork, gates & railings
Architectural steelwork, such as staircases, balustrades, gates and handrail systems are perfectly suited to powdercoating, and we are trusted by a number of local and national fabricators to complete the protective coatings on their steelwork for them.
We always recommend that any steelwork that is going to be used in exterior environment is fully blast cleaned, prior to a full two-coat protective system of a zinc-rich anti corrosive primer, followed by topcoat in choice of colour, for an aesthetic and durable finish.
Internal metalwork can have a more basic level of preparation, but we would still recommend the full system to provide a long lasting and durable finish, regardless of environment.
Aluminium, galvanised and stainless steel metalwork can generally all be prepared in a similar way, with a lighter blast clean, to prepare the surface, and then different primers are used where appropriate. Dependant on the size and function of the metalwork, they may not actually require blasting, and other preparation methods and products can be used.
We can comfortably handle large pieces with overall dimensions up to 4m x 3m, and dependant on designof the piece, up to 6m in length. For anything larger than this, we can offer a wet paint system.
We use Cromadex/Interpon paint & powdercoating products according to their 'Extra Life' Programme. The D1036 & D2525 powdercoating range are architectural grade products specifically developed to be extremeley hard wearing & durable on a number of both internal and external projects
